My child doesn't like math. Would he enjoy the event?
Everyone is welcome at the Festival, and we are especially happy to see children who think they don’t like math. One of our goals is to show kids the world of mathematics beyond multiplication tables, formulas, and textbooks. We believe every child will find activities they enjoy.
What age group is the Festival for?
Most of the activities are designed for children ages 5 to 12. Children ages 3 and 4 will be able to participate in a limited number of activities.
Can I bring my 2-year-old?
The Festival activities are designed for children in the 5–12 age range. You are welcome to bring a toddler, but please keep in mind that we are not planning activity stations specifically for very young children.
Do I have to stay with my child during the event?
Yes. The Festival is a family event, designed for children and parents to explore mathematics together. Parents or caregivers are responsible for supervising their children throughout the event. We are unable to monitor children outside of the activity stations.
Do parents participate, or is this just for children?
This is a family event. Parents are encouraged to join in, solve puzzles, play games, and explore the activities together with their children.
Will there be activities for different ability levels?
Yes. The Festival includes activities for a wide range of ages and experience levels, from young beginners to advanced problem-solvers.
Will there be Mother’s Day activities?
Yes. This year, we will have special Mother’s Day-themed activities and crafts for families to enjoy together.
Do we need any special math background?
No special preparation is needed. The Festival includes a wide range of activities, from simple hands-on puzzles to more challenging problems, so families can choose what interests them.
Why do I need to buy a ticket to this event?
Math Festivals are large-scale events that require months of preparation, coordination between many people, and significant space and materials. Your ticket helps us cover these costs and make the Festival possible.
If your company would like to sponsor the Festival, please contact us at info@pfmathircle.org
Do you need volunteers?
Yes! Volunteers make the Festival possible. You can find more information about volunteering here: Volunteers.
I bought tickets, but I can't attend the Festival. Now what?
Tickets are non-refundable, but they are transferable and may be used by another family. If you cannot attend, you are welcome to pass your tickets along to someone else who would enjoy the Festival.
